In the beginning, there was the idea to
develop a draught beer container which is easy to handle and provides
perfect poured beer. It was also a demand to use keggy independent of
electricity, water and external CO2 bottles
The keggy® is a 5 l
or 12.5 l container, consisting of a stainless steel liner covered with a
polyurethane jacket and equipped with a combo spear. Integrated into the
system is a pressure gas supply unit, which is filled with liquid CO²
(for beer) and nitrogen or a mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide (for
wine) via a filling valve.
 |
The
pressure is regulated by a pressure regulator, this pressure is
transported to the extraction valve. The pressure is set at keggy
drink systems, Germany. There are no adjusting knobs, no
compensators and taps by which you can set the wrong pressures. The
pressure for Pilsner is normally 1.5 bars.
The connection
between the co2-tank and keggy's stainless steel container is made
by the dispenser head which is attached very easily. |
 |
The
filling of the integrated
CO2 tank within the
keggy, needs to be filled with a professional CO2
filling device, which is offered by the machinery manufacturers
either as a manual, semiautomatic or fully automatic machine. In
most cases the cleaning and filling of the keggy can be done by
using adapters with existing kegging machines is sufficient. |
